The Pakistan Empowerment and Development Organization (PEDO) is a non-profit organization working to create equitable, resilient, and empowered communities across Pakistan. Established in Peshawar, PEDO focuses on women’s empowerment, health, education, climate change adaptation, and interfaith harmony. The organization takes a rights-based approach to addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV), early and forced marriages, and promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) through awareness, advocacy, and capacity building.
PEDO believes that sustainable development begins with empowerment of individuals, families, and communities. Through partnerships, inclusive programs, and climate-resilient initiatives, PEDO strives to build a future where equality, dignity, and opportunity are accessible to all.
PEDO is dedicated to empowering women and youth, with a focus on marginalized, displaced, refugee (including Afghan), and persons with disabilities, through inclusive, community based programs addressing climate change, interfaith harmony, education, health, disability inclusion, and gender-based violence (GBV). Using a rights based and participatory approach, PEDO promotes resilience, protection, and equal access to opportunities, working to strengthen local capacities, uphold human dignity, and foster peaceful and inclusive communities across Pakistan.
